Car insurance is required in most states. The reason car insurance is required in most states is because if a car hits another persons car then the insurance will pay for the damage and the owner of the car that hit the other will have to pay the insurance. This is a way of insuring the victim that they will get money. Car insurance does not cover everything, only what is explicitly stated in the agreement. Most, if not all, car insurance can be adjusted to cover different things to allow for extra safety or to save some money. It is important to note that car insurance does not just cover cars, it also covers any damage done by the car which includes property damage, damage to other people and anything else that a car can do harm to. The cost of insurance will increase if you have an accident to help pay them back for the damage and prepare for the next accident. Most people who have had an accident are considered more likely to have another. Insurance rate also go up if someone hits you, at least it will in most cases. There are companies with better policies than this. The cost of car insurance can also depend on where you live and how much you drive it. If you live in a high crime or high collision area than you will pay more than a person living in a safe area would. The amount you are expected to drive it also plays a role because the more you drive the more likely you are to get or be hit. One of the biggest factors, aside from what you are covered for, is the make or model of your car. This is because some cars are more expensive and, believe it or not, might be more likely to get stolen. There is actually a list of the most stolen cars. Feel free to look it up. Uninsured Insurance
No... I am not making this up. In some states there is such a thing as uninsured insurance. What this does is cover the cost of damage done to your car by a person who does not have insurance. This will insure that your car gets fixed. It is important for you to have insurance even though this type of insurance exists, not everyone will have it, and like it or not, it's the law and it will be till you change it. |
