Health Insurance
Health Insurance This is usually referred to as insurance when talking to a person. Health insurance is very important. With doctor and hospital bills at all time highs due to monopolization of medicines and soaring amounts of malpractice suits it has suddenly become impossible to pay even the simplest medical bills. There are a variety of health insurance packages today. For example there are kinds that pay for just doctors visits, there is the temporary kind that are only meant to hold you over till you find a new job or provider. While it is certainly possible to survive without health insurance, you'd better hope you don't need to go to the doctor or need to go to the hospital or you will find that what you pay is actually about 10x what you normally pay. What you normally pay is the co-pay, the amount you agree to cover or the doctors require as collateral, then insurance covers the rest. Living Without Health Insurance When living without health insurance it is best to live near the border of Canada or Europe, as they have free health care covered by some sort of tax, whether it be on gas or income. Some societies prefer to have free health care, but in a country without one you should be careful because you could get stuck with a bill easily higher than your yearly salary. Even a simple MRI can cost several hundred dollars. If you have a small injury you can go to a charity hospital or treat it yourself(not highly recommended, but if you do, make sure to sterilize everything) or have someone look at it and ask for recommendations. When living without health insurance, be sure not to do anything out of the norm or dangerous. Health Insurance Cost The cost of insurance depend on your co-pay, your health records and what you are covered for, as well as the company you are with. Generally the company health plans cost less. The less you are covered for the less you pay and if you are healthy, then you are probably going to end up paying less money. In fact some companies offer a reward if you exercise or quit smoking. They are certainly adjustable whatever the situation. |
